"The shot 'heard round the world"

I actually overlooked this in my "On This Day" historical series on my blog. 250 years ago today, what will be remembered as the first shots by American Colonial Soldiers are fired at British troops in at the North Bridge of Concord, Massachusetts -- and in nearby Lexington.. The British were coming to look for a stockpile of American arms and show their muscle. The famous Midnight Ride of Paul Revere happened the day before on April 18.
